Dominic Alldis is making a welcome return to Cranleigh Arts with a new programme called “Two Trios”. The first trio will celebrate pioneers of classical-jazz fusion: Jacques Loussier, Dave Brubeck, The MJQ, and feature jazz arrangements of classical themes by Bach, Fauré, Ravel, Satie, Tchaikovsky, Dvorák, Bizet and Chopin. The second trio will feature jazz guitarist Colin Oxley and celebrate jazz piano-vocal interpreters of the Great American Songbook: Nat Cole, Ray Charles, Shirley Horn and Blossom Dearie. They will play a selection of jazz standards by Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Jerome Kern and a few Christmas classics.
